Is renting a car in Albania safe?

Do I need an International Driving Permit (IDP)?

Visitors from the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom and the United States can drive in Albania on their national licence for stays up to 90 days. For longer stays — or if your licence isn't in the Latin alphabet — an IDP is recommended. It's cheap and saves time at the border.
Can I take the car to Kosovo, Montenegro or Greece?

Yes. You'll need a Green Card (insurance extension) and prior approval from the operator. Tell us your itinerary at booking and we'll arrange the paperwork — usually within 24 hours.
What documents do I need to pick up the car?

How does pickup at Tirana Airport work?

Tell us your date, time and flight number at booking. The operator meets you at the arrivals terminal with a name sign, or at their handover desk — no extra waiting, no shuttle buses. Pickups also work overnight and on public holidays.
Are the roads in Albania good?

Highways (SH1, A1, A2) and main inter-city roads are paved and in very good condition. Some mountain routes (Theth, Llogara Pass, Valbona) are more technical — for those an SUV or 4x4 is recommended, and you can filter for it directly in search.
