In July–August, that 18 km drive takes 60–80 minutes mid-day. Leave before 09:00 or after 17:00 — there’s no other workaround.
Butrint Archaeological Park is 5 km from Ksamil. Plan a dedicated half-day for it — don’t try to combine with a beach day.
Streets inside Ksamil are narrow and busy with tourists. A small hatchback (Fiat Panda, Toyota Aygo) parks three times faster than a full-size SUV.
