Local know-how

What to know before you drive in Pogradec

Crossing to Ohrid (North Macedonia)

Tushëmisht (Sveti Naum) crossing is 5 minutes from town. Green-card insurance is required — without it, rentals can’t cross.

Lungomare: one-way in season

The downtown lungomare runs one-way in summer. Watch the signs — speed cameras are active in this zone.

Fuel up before leaving

Pogradec has stations downtown. Top up before driving toward Korca (40 km) if you’re below a third of a tank.

The right car for the trip

We recommend: Economy

Pogradec is a small town with narrow inner streets. A small economy car parks more easily and gives better fuel economy if you plan to loop the lake into North Macedonia.

Parking: Free parking along the lakefront. Lungomare paid parking in season (~€0.50/hour).
